Zakat Contributions Increases by Pahang's Booming Business Contribution
KUANTAN, 23 OCTOBER 2023 : His Royal Highness and Majesty The King, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah was delighted to witness the dedication ceremony of the corporate body's business Zakat which took place at the Astana Ballroom, Grand Darul Makmur Hotel here today.
Tuanku Yang Dipertua Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP), His Majesty, the Acting King of Pahang, Tengku Mahkota Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah was also gratified to witness the business Zakat payment from three corporate bodies of RM8.4 million in total.
The business Zakat payment was received from Perbadanan Setiausaha Kerajaan Pahang (PSK) in total of RM4 million which was handed over by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PSK, Dato' Sri Haji Zulkifli Haji Yaacob.
Followed by Koperasi Serbausaha Makmur Berhad (KOSMA) with a zakat donation of RM2.42 million which was handed over by the Chairman of KOSMA, YH. Dato' Haji Zamri Haji Mohamed.
Mr Bentong World Trading represented by its founder, Mr. Hafiz Oon Jun Seong has handed over RM2 million worth of zakat.
Accompanying together with the 2 royal highness was His Royal Highness, Tengku Panglima Raja Colonel Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
His Majesty had previously attended the 190th Majlis Ugama Islam and Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP) meeting at the same council.
Present together were the honorary Chief Minister of Pahang, Dato' Sri Haji Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and The honorary state secretary, Dato' Sri Haji Zulkifli Haji Yaacob.
According to the Executive Board of the Zakat collection center (PKZ) of Pahang, honorary Dato' Haji Halidan Md Daud, the zakat collection increased by 3.9 percent with RM131.9 million compared to RM126.9 million last year.
The highest zakat contribution came from the salary deduction sector with RM54.9 million, business Zakat contributed RM41.3 million and savings Zakat in total of RM17.5 million.
PKZ also reminded Muslims to immediately pay their zakat through various methods provided by visiting PKZ counters in addition to using online methods through Internet Banking, FPX, PahangGo App, Razor Pay, Shopee, SnapNPay or MyEg portal.
